Sometimes I wonder if we do the things we do because of how it makes you feel when it comes to an end. The feeling of taking off your wet, cold boots and stoking up the fire after an exhilarating tromp through a majestic wood, brings me home to that place. While warming home-made turkey soup and rebound from the hike that chilled our bones and made rosy the cheeks, I reflect on the feeling of being with friends and how good it feels to come home. You could lie around all day by the warm fire, but it always feels better when you come in from the cold and warm your self up nice and toasty. Lets not take these feelings for granted - we have earned them and I can't wait to come home again.

Today was a classic hike, I want to congratulate Nicole Gelinas for making her debut in the Cold Rain and Snow, well done, welcome to the club. I agree with Alex's post. We Might not want to get up and out condsidering the conditions, bt once your out, there is no better feeling.
